Privacy
The Lamp is built to need almost nothing about you. Here is what it does and doesn’t do, in plain English.
What the lamp uses
- A small cookie with a random ID, so the page can tell that you already tended (without knowing who you are).
- A salted hash of your IP address combined with the day, used only for rate-limiting. It is discarded after 24 hours.
- Aggregate visit numbers (counts only, no per-person records) so I can tell whether the lamp is being used.
What the lamp does not use
- Your email. There is no email field anywhere on the site.
- Your name, location, browser fingerprint, or any third-party tracker.
- Ad networks. There are no ads.
- Analytics that follow you around the web.
Tipping
If you tip the maker, the payment processor (Stripe / Ko-fi) sees what they need to see for the transaction. The Lamp itself doesn’t learn anything about you from a tip — there is no account on this site, and tipping doesn’t change the flame.
Deletion
There is nothing to delete because there is no account. Clearing your cookies clears the local cooldown.
